چکیده

In this paper, we consider the isoptic curves in 2-dimensional geometries of constant curvature E, H, E. The topic is widely investigated in the Euclidean plane E, see for example [1] and [15] and the references given there. In the hyperbolic and elliptic plane (according to [18]), there are few results in this topic (see [3] and [4]). In this paper, we give a review of the known results on isoptics of Euclidean and hyperbolic curves and develop a procedure to study the isoptic curves in the hyperbolic and elliptic plane geometries and apply it to some geometric objects, e.g. proper conic sections. For the computations we use classical models based on the projective interpretation of hyperbolic and elliptic geometry and in this manner the isoptic curves can be visualized. Designing Bézier conic segments with monotone curvature

For some applications of computer-aided geometric design it is important to maintain strictly monotone curvature along a curve segment. Here we analyze the curvature distributions of segments of conic sections represented as rational quadratic Bézier curves in standard form. We show that if the end points and the weight are fixed, then the curvature of the conic segment will be strictly monoton...

On the Isoptic Hypersurfaces in the n-Dimensional Euclidean Space

The theory of the isoptic curves is widely studied in the Euclidean plane E2 (see [1] and [13] and the references given there). The analogous question was investigated by the authors in the hyperbolic H2 and elliptic E2 planes (see [3], [4]), but in the higher dimensional spaces there is no result according to this topic. In this paper we give a natural extension of the notion of the isoptic cu...

A characterization of curves in Galilean 4-space $G_4$

‎In the present study‎, ‎we consider a regular curve in Galilean‎ ‎$4$-space $mathbb{G}_{4}$ whose position vector is written as a‎ ‎linear combination of its Frenet vectors‎. ‎We characterize such‎ ‎curves in terms of their curvature functions‎. ‎Further‎, ‎we obtain‎ ‎some results of rectifying‎, ‎constant ratio‎, ‎$T$-constant and‎ ‎$N$-constant curves in $mathbb{G}_{4}$‎.

Virtual Models of Conic Sections

People know and use conic sections for a long time. They observe these curves in many situations: the parabolic trajectory of a thrown stone, the circular waves when the stone falls in calm water, and the elliptical shadows of round objects during sunsets (see Fig. 1). Conic sections were and still are one of the most favorite objects of mathematical study and education. Students spend hours in...

Drawing Lines and Conic Sections using Method of Deviation

Method of deviation was introduced in [1] for drawing implicit curves. This paper develops algorithms for drawing lines and conic sections using method of deviation. All computations are performed in integer mode. The lines and conic sections drawn are compared with those drawn using mid point algorithm.
